Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of his servant? Let the one who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on their God.                                                                                                      ~Isaiah 50:10

Hello All – Carol here! Most of you know me as President and Founder of We’re All God’s Children but I think it is time you get to know me as a traveler on this road – just like you.

Like most of you, I struggle to understand God’s will in my life and follow it. Oh yes, intellectually I know God wants only good for me. It should be so easy to follow His leading; but when that will is not in line with my thinking then humanity steps in, and all of the excuses come pouring out along with doubt and fear of the unknown.

Which brings me to the purpose of this message: I have felt the Lord leading me to share my thoughts with others through writing and this blog space is the perfect medium. Again that is easy to say, but those of you who know me also know I have resisted writing for a long time. Public speaking – no problem. Organizing and leading a mission trip – doable. But writing – no way! The thought of putting written words on a page for everyone to criticize – the grammar, the spelling, the punctuation – it’s like hitting a huge roadblock. What if what I write has no meaning to others?  However, I have come to realize the Lord always provides the grace and strength to do what He has called us to do. And so, we are here together.

Those of you who know me also know I am a bit of a control freak. I like to have plans laid out way in advance. I am a list maker. I plan down to the details and always like to know what is coming next. I have been trying to plan these posts for weeks and obviously nothing has been posted!

So remembering those famous words, “It’s not about me!” I have decided to just start at the beginning and share the thoughts God has put on my heart. I might write about upcoming events, our mission work, or some life lesson I am learning – or trying to learn! J I might write daily or weekly but hopefully whenever the Spirit moves me. I hope you enjoy walking this road with me and look forward to hearing your comments.

“We are visitors on this planet. We are here for one hundred years at the very most. During that period we must try to do something good, something useful, with our lives. If you contribute to other people’s happiness, you will find the true meaning of life.”                                ~ Dalai Lama XIV
