Africa

Due to the current situation of violence and civil unrest in Kenya the programs below have been tempoarily put on hold. Instead we are seeking financial donations to purchase food, blankets and other necessary supplies for the displaced villagers of Kenya currently living in refugee tent cities. All donations designated for the Africa Relief Fund will be sent on to the InterContinental Christian Ministry in Eldoret for purchase and distribution of supplies. Please use our donation form to send contributions by mail. Thank you!

Programs On Hold
Our current project involves sending additional teams to Kenya next year. There are several ways you can help with this endeavor. Purchasing medicine is our single largest financial need. In 2007 we treated more than 4,000 villagers with $7,000 worth of medicine. Our main goal is to increase that amount in 2008. Please consider sending a financial contribution - even a small donation when combined with others will make a huge difference.

We partner with Lions Club International to bring equipment for vision testing and eyeglasses along with us to Kenya. Our local sponsor is the Manheim Township Sunrise Lions Club. They provide eyeglasses for free distribution. If you have used eyeglasses you would like to donate to help refill the Lions' supplies please contact Lion Tom Fanelli at 717-291-7244. In addition, we will bring suitcases full of donated eyeglasses and medical supplies such as bandages and vinyl gloves. Because we will have extra suitcases to transport we are in need of "suitcase sponsors". Your donation of $195 will help cover the cost of one suitcase. This will ensure that the team will have the necessary items they need to help as many people as possible.

WAGC has purchased the land adjoining the ICCM Health Center for the purpose of building an income-based maternity clinic . Currently women have to give birth to their babies in their mud-walled grass thatched huts and most mothers develop infections while many babies die during the process for lack of professional help. Our goal is to raise additional funds to begin construction of the building. Please review our Special Africa Report on our 2007 trip to Kenya for more information on our work there. It details the impact the trip made on both the villagers and team members. And most importantly, please pray for the health and safety of our team members as they represent you, our sponsors, to those in need across the globe. Please use our donation form to send contributions by mail. Thank you!

Appalachia

Our prayers have been answered! We have recently come to an agreement with a supporter who has supplied our need for warehouse space with a loading dock. We can now begin the task of collecting gently used furniture and appliances for distribution in Kentucky. But we cannot accomplish this task without your help. There are several ways you can become involved. Even a small amount of your time would be greatly appreciated. You will certainly be blessed for your efforts!

We are currently collecting items for a return visit to Appalachia in the spring of 2008 to transport new and gently used home repair supplies and household items. The following list contains suggestions only—other items may also be accepted. Please contact us at info@wereallgodschildren.org if you have any questions.

  • Refrigerators, washers & dryers, other appliances
  • Beds, chests, living room, dining room & kitchen furniture
  • Small tables & lamps
  • Baby furniture, strollers, diapers
  • Building supplies - rugs, doors, windows, sheetrock, nails, flooring, lumber, etc.
  • New comforters, sheets, blankets
  • Book bags, paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, glue, crayons, folders
  • Personal items (shampoo, toothpaste and brushes, combs, hair brushes, tissues)
We are not accepting clothing donations of any kind.

Please note that we cannot accept items that are broken or in need of repair. Please use your best judgment regarding the condition of your donation. Items in poor condition will not be accepted. With the rising cost of disposal, a donation that we cannot use places an added financial burden on the foundation which could be better used in meeting people’s needs. Thank you for helping us get the quality items we need to carry out our mission.

If you are unable to donate items you can still help in other ways:

  • We need volunteers with pick-up trucks to collect donations and take them to our storage facility in Mountville.
  • At this time we are also seeking financial support for our Fuel Fund. At a minimum of $800 this is our largest expense per trip. Please use our donation form to send contributions by mail. Thank you!

Native America

Our fact finding trip to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota in October 2007 was very successful. During this visit we met with the director of the Porcupine Health Clinic, the only Native run clinic in the US.

In addition to shipping medical supplies for use at the clinic, a return visit in June 2008 is planned for the express purpose of vision testing and eyeglass distribution. Due to the generosity of the Manheim Township Sunrise Lions Club we have over 2,500 pairs of eyeglasses sorted and packed for the clinic. Contributions are now being accepted to help offset the the $9,500 budget for this mission trip. Please use our donation form to send contributions by mail. Thank you!
